Silverstone Morgans, January 2008

Jim and I had a lovely time at the Pot Luck dinner held at Carol and Ray Potts on the 30th.
of December. We look forward to this meeting every year. We are not always able to attend
the different events put on by the Club during the year but this meeting is a great way for
us to renew old friendships and start new ones.
We have come to a hard decision, we are curtailing our breeding program here at
Silverstone. We have several of our proven younger broodmares for sale at reasonable
prices, these mares can be bought open or can come with a breeding to our stallions. We
are expecting one foal this year out of Nemours Noblelea, she is in foal to our younger
stallion Silverstone Mountain Ash. We have several youngsters that are also for sale,
these are all by our senior stallion CW's Silver Ash.
Wishing everyone a Healthful and Happy 2008 from us at Silverstone

I found a brochure about Gaineville, Al., and called the archivist who has presented tours
for years there. Yes, Woodbury is buried there and she ( or was it Anne) about the
individual who purchased him. Gainesville ( on the Al. River) was a thriving, very
prosperous community in the mid 1800s and fine horse flesh was indeed sought after for the
fine stables and racing interests. (Miss Kitty) Kathryn Harrison has promised to send me
materials and if there is interest it would be fun to visit this historic community and
speak with some of t he family members who have been involved with horses there for
generations.
